My final project will be a video about the start of Pokémon and its rise to fame. In this, my audience will be those who perhaps know the series a bit and are curious about how Pokémon became so loved and well known. This video is not going after an audience of experienced Pokémon fans because as this is more of a lighthearted informative video, hard core fans are not really interested in how Pokémon rose to fame, but rather would be more interested in the Pokémon world itself. I want to go for a light hearted tone, because Pokémon is a game directed at children, and while some people take it very seriously, I want to reflect Pokémon’s intent and beginnings and make it simple and calm, with a few jokes here and there, but overall I want it to seem as if I am explaining it to a child. For the research I am simply looking into how Pokémon was made, the imagination put into, the reasoning behind it, and compare the dates of different game releases to the rising popularity. Also some, *cough* “in the field” experience was also conducted, by replaying a few of the old games, you know, for informational purposes only.
